Kolkata: A grand zamindar wedding, seven suspicious guests, and a murder that changes everything — the trailer of Phool Pishi O Edward has finally been unveiled, drawing audiences into a gripping world of mystery, hidden motives, dark humour and psychological intrigue.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, the film unfolds amid the opulence of a traditional Bengali zamindar wedding where every guest appears to be hiding something. With tension simmering beneath lavish celebrations, the trailer keeps viewers constantly guessing about the identity of the killer.
Blending suspense with a rich Bengali cultural backdrop, the film creates an atmosphere that is eerie, chaotic and entertaining in equal measure. Dysfunctional family dynamics, emotionally charged confrontations and layers of suspicion slowly build into a murder mystery that carefully conceals its biggest secrets.
One of the most striking aspects of the trailer is its unpredictable tone. Penned by Zinia Sen, the story, screenplay and dialogues move seamlessly between dark comedy and intense psychological suspense, keeping audiences hooked throughout. Additional screenplay, dialogues and script correction have been handled by Samragnee Bandyopadhyay.
Sharing her excitement about the film, Raima Sen said, “What I loved most about Phool Pishi O Edward is that every character carries a secret, and the audience keeps changing their suspicions every few minutes. The trailer gives you just enough to pull you into this strange, chaotic world without revealing what’s actually underneath. That unpredictability is what makes the film so exciting.”

Speaking about the project, Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee shared that they wanted to craft a murder mystery deeply rooted in Bengali culture while remaining universally engaging. According to the filmmakers, the zamindar wedding backdrop offered the perfect setting to combine grandeur, humour, emotional chaos and suspense into one layered narrative.
The film features an ensemble cast led by Raima Sen and Sohini Sengupta, alongside Arjun Chakraborty, Ananya Chatterjee and debutant Shyamoupti Mudly. The supporting cast includes Koneenica Bandyopadhyay, Anamika Saha, Shaheb Chattopadhyay, Rajatava Dutta, Soumya Mukherjee and Rishav Basu.
Just when the trailer seems to reveal the truth, it introduces another layer of doubt, ensuring the mystery remains intact until the very end. Phool Pishi O Edward is set to hit cinemas on May 29.
